Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practice.
- 18 years of legal experience, including within the Asia Pacific region.
- 5 years of experience as a General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel, building and leading a regional legal department.
- Authorized to practice law.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience handling legal issues related to Business-to-Business and Business-to-Consumer online services, including content and media laws, data protection, antitrust and consumer protection laws.
- Familiarity with the business, legal and policy landscape in the Asia Pacific region.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, working on a large number of files at the same time, and digesting a lot of information.
- Exemplary business judgment, problem solving abilities, and analytical skills.
- Proven reputation and stature to represent Google on the regional stage, and working with teams to get things done.

We’re looking for a Head of Legal, Asia Pacific who is an action-oriented person, committed to advocating for Google, our users and the Asia Pacific region and societies in which we operate. In this role, you will be an inspirational leader, advisor, and business partner who leads through influence and by example. Reporting to the VP, International Legal teams, this role will lead a large team of legal professionals across the Asia Pacific region to execute Google’s strategic legal agenda, taking into consideration broader geopolitical, marketplace, industry, and public sentiment, as well as Alphabet and Google’s vision, strategy, and long-term goals. You will be an integral part of the international Legal leadership, as well as the regional cross-functional leadership team, helping guide Google’s growth in Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities
- Lead, inspire, develop and manage a large team across Asia Pacific (including China, Japan, Korea India, SE Asia and Australia), that is responsible for providing the full range of legal support services (including agreements, advisory, regulatory and contentious matters) at the regional, local and industry levels.
- Partner with Google’s Legal and Business senior leadership to agree upon and drive Google’s evolving legal priorities.
- Provide advice and counsel on a wide range of legal, business, corporate strategy and governance issues to Executive Leadership and key internal stakeholders across a diverse set of products.
- Manage company positioning on key interests and issues, working in partnership with leadership and key stakeholder groups.
