Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certifications in program management and Agile methodologies.
  • 10 years of experience in program management and managing cross-functional or cross-team projects, with a background in governance and PMO standardization and process development across enterprises.
  • 7 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • 5 years of experience in leading and maturing a PMO at scale. Experience leading process and tooling changes and driving cross-functional alignment to PMO governance and best practices.
  • Experience presenting to executive audiences, representing PMO performance based on business, technical and product metrics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience leading a mission critical PMO at scale supporting multiple lines of business.
  • Ability to successfully lead large complex programs at a global level involving many cross-functional IT operational teams.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a highly integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members.
  • Ability to manage engaging priorities without loss of efficiency.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, analysis, and communication skills.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

Google Enterprise Networking (GEN) is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Program Manager to lead our PMO team.

GEN's mission is to Enable Google’s ambitions through secure, reliable and efficient network services. GEN delivers an internal enterprise network that provides service to more than a quarter million users around the world. We are responsible for all Google offices, data centers, and specialty spaces.

The GEN PMO (Program Management Office) is a centralized team that drives program oversight and governance to enable increased velocity, predictability and quality of our cross-functional management and execution in support of our business objectives. The GEN PMO helps improve the efficiency and effectiveness of program management within the organization. This team is responsible for standardizing program management processes, providing training and support, developing and implementing program management tools and techniques, and measuring and reporting on program performance.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $221,000-$311,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Participate in executive Leadership Team decisions and organizational leadership. Present in meeting forums, including organization level updates, all-hands meetings, Executive Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
  • Drive oversight and governance of GEN-wide programs to ensure the most effective and efficient execution, while validating ROI of GEN’s largest investments. Organize and manage activities that drive project outcomes.
  • Mature PMO tooling, metrics and reporting to ensure Leadership visibility with predictable outcomes. Drive organizational change management around adopting new levels of excellence and program hygiene.
  • Establish continuous improvement mechanisms for program management and product life-cycle processes, milestones and assets through measurement of performance, progress, and success metrics.
  • Manage cross-functional programs through their full life-cycle to meet business-level objectives. Become a close trusted partner to supporting teams. Monitor, manage and communicate changes to process, program status, risks, dependencies, and mitigation.
