About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

Our goal is to build a Google that looks like the world around us — and we want Googlers to stay and grow when they join us. As part of our efforts to build a Google for everyone, we build diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work and we aim to cultivate a sense of belonging throughout the company.

In this role, you will be a key member of the team dedicated to building and nurturing trust in Google Play across the globe. You'll utilize a combination of technical expertise, relationship-building skills, and cultural sensitivity to effectively engage with developer communities, industry groups, and other key stakeholders.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with developer communities and industry groups in assigned regions.
  • Deliver compelling presentations, workshops, and training sessions to educate stakeholders on Play's commitment to safety, trust, and product innovation.
  • Proactively identify and address potential concerns or misconceptions about Play's policies and practices.
  • Gather and synthesize developer and user feedback to inform Play's product roadmap and improve the overall user experience. Work closely with local Google teams, government affairs, and other cross-functional partners to achieve shared goals.
  • Travel extensively to assigned regions to attend conferences, meetups, and other events, serving as a visible and accessible representative of Google Play.
