Content Strategy Lead, Apps, GTM

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communication, Literature, Business, Marketing, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in UX writing, content design, technical writing, writing, editorial, marketing, or related, as well as leading content strategy projects.
  • Experience with both video and text content (including AI) creation and best practices.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of writing, editorial, marketing, or UX writing experience in an agency setting.
  • 7 years of experience interacting with executive leadership.
  • 5 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional technology organization.
  • Experience in Digital advertising industry, SEM or SEO.

Google Play is a global digital content store that makes it easy for more than 2.5 billion monthly users across 190+ markets worldwide to discover and engage with millions of high-quality apps, games, books, and more. We provide these billions of users with curated content and recommendations on the Play store to help bring users joy, solve their problems, edit their photos, track their fitness, or even track birds in their local community. The Apps GTM (Go-to-Market) team is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive content strategy that informs what we decide to feature, where on and off the Play store, and in which format (text, video, or hybrid) to drive daily engagement with Apps and in-app content.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$245,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Understand and advocate for all UX functions as essential to the product life-cycle.
  • Deliver the content strategy for the Apps team to determine which topics and themes will be covered in line with both user interest and Play priorities, including content formats and placements both on and off the Play store.
  • Lead, mentor and inspire a global team of content strategists, editors and vendors to deliver thousands of pieces of content annually (video, short and longform text, scripts, social media).
  • Demonstrate passion for user-centric content and product improvement by influencing Product, Engineering and GTM strategic planning.
