Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify high-impact opportunities and deliver scalable design outcomes in emerging areas.
  • Proven track record of leveraging expertise in UX principles to guide or challenge project direction and strategy.

As a UX Writer & Content Designer, you will use your gift for language to design intuitive, helpful product experiences, and bring a deep understanding of content and storytelling to deliver a coherent voice and narrative. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

As a UX Writer & Content Designer, you will regularly use craft, empathy, logic, and data to inform your writing and design choice. You will drive frameworks, guidelines, information architecture, heuristic models, design solutions, and influence product vision. You will work with leadership to set goals and implement roadmaps.

In this role, you will drive model behavior design efforts to shape the future of Google's generative AI experiences. You will create conversational response strategies that prioritize helpfulness, using natural language to build meaningful interactions within our AI-powered search environment.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead content design for key workstreams, scoping opportunities, setting the plan, and delivering high-quality UX deliverables that shape product roadmaps and experiences.
  • Define content and principles that guide the shape AI response strategies and experiences.
  • Help scale framework resources to appropriate target audiences, managing your work, setting direction, and communicating priorities aligned with organizational goals.
  • Influence UX and cross-functional partnerships to align stakeholder expectations, drive understanding and alignment, and advocate for user-focused content experiences.
  • Develop scalable frameworks, rubrics, and evaluation methods that ensure high-quality, trustworthy responses while building user confidence.
