Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing role.
- Experience serving in the capacity of a pre-sales, customer-facing field engineering people manager capacity leading a multi-regional team.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in building product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept planning and execution, and the coordination and prioritization of solutions impacting customer adoption of database solutions.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL database technologies, with the ability to position a database for customer’s application use case.
- Knowledge of application development, runtime platforms, and related technologies.
- Ability to craft an audience-tailored message.
- Ability to build and maintain engaged positioning information for cloud and on-prem databases.

As a Practice Customer Engineering (CE) Manager, you will lead and deploy a team of subject matter experts responsible for working alongside our customers to provide trusted technical and solution advice to accelerate workload migration and remove technical blockers. You will foster a culture of technical excellence and understand the mechanics of architecture, delivery, and consumption within your specialized domain and Google Cloud’s products and solutions.

Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Practice Customer Engineers and build a growth culture. Focus on talent strategy and skills development to deliver on successful cloud transformation outcomes for our customers and accelerate business goals for territory.
- Foster partnerships with key customers across the book of business. Provide leadership related to cloud, transformation and relevant industry trends.
- Partner with Google Cloud sales leadership to define technical go-to-market strategies and execution plans for the team's book of business.
- Balance technical leadership with operational excellence, lead workload and opportunity review meetings and provide insight into how to achieve a technical agreement and migration strategy, working directly with our customers, partners, and prospects.
- Work cross-functionally across Google, our partners, and team to resolve technical roadblocks including capacity needs, constraints and product tests affecting customer satisfaction.
