Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree (C++).
- 2 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
- Experience working on embedded audio pipelines including encoders/decoders.
- Experience working with embedded processors, Linux kernel, drivers, BSP.
- Experience with processors (e.g., Qualcomm Hexagon) and commercial wearable or mobile products.

The Pixel Watch Audio team is responsible for the audio experience on Wear OS devices. Our work spans the entire stack, from low-level BSP integration of vendor software to the development of consumer features. In this role, you will serve as an architect for audio drivers and frameworks that support the Pixel Watch ecosystem.
We collaborate with SOC vendors to leverage system hardware for next-generation capabilities. We maintain the stability and build a footprint of the ADSP (ambient audio domain), ensuring that our devices remain responsive and efficient.
Our team delivered features such as Raise to Talk, Speaker Water Ejection, and the audio suite for Pixel Watch devices. We focus on delivering audio experiences while keeping power consumption low, and prioritize hardware-software integration for wearable technology.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Responsibilities
- Deliver software across a variety of different components, including MCU domain, ADSP, Linux kernel, and Android.
- Influence technical direction for a variety of voice and audio features, helping to define and built the next generation of audio AI experiences on Pixel Watch.
- Responsible for design, planning, development and delivery of novel audio pipeline code. Collaborate closely with Board Support Package (BSP), Modem, Algo, Ambient Compute, and AI teams among others.
- Participate in review of other team members changes, helping to improve software quality and improve processes.
- Enable the next generation of audio features, with a focus on microphone input to drive novel interactions with the device leveraging AI.
