Technical Solutions Engineer, Data Analytics

This role requires you to work in a shift pattern or non-standard work hours as required. Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with two or more of the following: web tech, data/big data, systems admin, machine learning, networking, Kubernetes, Oracle, SAP.
  • Experience with debugging codes written in a general purpose coding language (e.g., Java, C, C++, Python, Shell, Go or JavaScript, etc.) and in virtualization and orchestration frameworks.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in customer advocacy.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix or other operating systems (Kernel to Shell, file systems, client-server protocols).
  • Knowledge in Web application development/deployment, HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP)/RESTful Application Programming Interface (API) troubleshooting, or database design/troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (e.g., Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), routing, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)).
  • Excellent communication and technical presentation skills for multiple audiences.
  • Excellent problem-solving and investigative skills, with attention to detail.

In this role, you will own the customer issues with providing level two support to the other support teams. You will be a part of a global team that provides support to help customers make the switch to Google Cloud. You will troubleshoot technical problems for customers with debugging, networking, system administration, updating documentation, and when needed, coding/scripting. You will make the products easier to adopt and use by making improvements to the product, tools, processes and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of Google Cloud's data analytics (e.g., BigQuery) and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, and planning the root cause for customer-reported issues, building tools, and diagnosis.
  • Act as consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in engineering, business, and customer organizations to resolve technical deployment issues and improve Google Cloud.
  • Work as part of a team of engineers and consultants that ensure customer support globally.
  • Understand customer issues, advocate for their needs with internal teams, including product and engineering teams, and drive quality production.
  • Work with customers on their production databases.
