Software Developing Manager, Chrome iOS

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with the Chrome Tech Stack and familiarity with C++, web application development, full-stack development, and related technologies.
  • Experience with software experiment design and analysis to measure the impact of new features and drive continuous improvement through a data-driven approach.
  • Understanding of user needs with the ability to translate them into innovative solutions through a user-centric mindset.
  • Ability to learn continuously, as Chrome is a project that utilizes a wide range of technologies.

As a Software Developing Manager you manage your project goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop your team. With technical and leadership expertise, you manage developers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

In this role, you will lead a Montreal-based developing team focused on driving Chrome iOS Growth and usage. You will facilitate Chrome setup, enable user customizations, and empower users to maximize Chrome's offerings. The team collaborates frequently with the Marketing, Partnership teams, and other Google iOS Apps teams to achieve these goals.Chrome is dedicated to building a better, more open web. We’re focused on making a better browser (on both desktop and mobile) to help users take advantage of all the web has to offer in a safe and secure way.Chrome is available across all major platforms — iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS. We also built Chrome as an open source project so the entire web ecosystem could benefit from the latest innovations in speed, simplicity and security.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of talented software developers responsible for building innovative user-facing features in Chrome, in the iOS ecosystem.
  • Co-own the planning and execution of the team's priorities with PM and UX partners.
  • Set the longer-term strategy for the team in collaboration with PM and UX partners, using data to inform strategy and validate experiments.
  • Own the design, implementation and successful launch of technical projects.
  • Foster an environment for the team by coaching and helping them grow.
