Technical Program Manager, YouTube Shopping

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt and grow in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to apply judgement in technical decision making with an understanding of ML.
  • Ability to structure, plan and scale programs and projects across team and product area boundaries.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional influence skills.
  • Excellent track record in delivering cross-organization and cross-functional software engineering projects.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across functions (Product Manager, UX, Engineer) and levels to define and successfully deliver software engineering programs and projects for the YouTube Shopping domain.
  • Reduce process friction and build efficiencies.
  • Partner with Technical Program Manager leads to support the evolution of operational capabilities across the wider organization.
  • Engage with engineering and product teams and encourage them to learn and adopt project delivery best practices.
  • Oversee dependencies and escalations, drive visibility on progress and risks to leadership, and foster alignment across stakeholders motivated by shared success.
