Product Manager, Payments Platform

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 6 years industry experience leading complex products, leveraging ML, operations and external vendors, that involve multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience developing technical road maps and plans to implement solutions, and communicating the road map to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational and influencing skills, with the ability for thought leadership and building relationships.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, and ability to articulate well on different levels of abstraction, from technical to executive.
  • Ability to analyze data using SQL and create data visualizations.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

This role has a critical impact on the Company's ability to meet changing existing and meeting new regulatory requirements. Strategic verticals like Play Marketplace and businesses like Cloud are dependent on Anti-Financial Compliance (AFC) product capabilities to stay compliant.

You will be leading the building of the capabilities for Anti-Financial Compliance Platform including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Screenings and Regulatory reporting. You will partner with first-party integrators such as Cloud or Play to understand their regulatory compliance needs, build product strategy and roadmap. You will define the review tools that are used by our analysts and also explore how AI/ML can be leveraged to improve operational efficiency and partner with financial compliance investigators, engineers, data scientists, program managers, cross-functional stakeholders through the planning, design, development, testing, launch, and post-launch.

Whether it is paying online with Autofill, using tap and pay in stores, or using the Google Pay app, the Payments team at Google is focused on making payments simple, seamless, and secure. In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Own one of more areas within Payments Anti-Financial Crimes platform, Anti Money Laundering, Screenings or Regulatory reporting.
  • Work with Payments Compliance business stakeholders to understand, measure, and prioritize individual needs aimed at reducing regulatory, brand and other payments compliance risks.
  • Work with First-Party (1P) integrators such as Cloud or Play to understand their regulatory needs, define and launch products or solutions to enable their business growth.
  • Build out a strategy and road map for smart alerting using AI/ML to reduce false positives/negatives and the review tools used by hundreds of analysts.
  • Develop and manage complex projects for Payments Compliance core platform, working with multiple cross-functional partners to ensure on-time delivery.
