Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of professional experience, including 10 years in a similar role or in Management Consulting, Corporate Development, Product Management, Engineering, or Operations of a product development team.
  • Experience leading operational initiatives.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with cross-functional executive stakeholder management and leadership through influence.
  • Ability to influence without authority, working on and with technical and cross-functional or highly matrixed teams who do not report into the role to get things done.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment with an emphasis on teamwork.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to represent complex business or technical concepts with executive leadership.
  • Excellent project management and problem solving skills, combined with excellent business judgment and communication skills.

The mission for Google Shopping is to build the best place for consumers to start their commerce journeys, and the best place for businesses to connect with merchants, regardless of where those journeys complete. As Director, you will work closely with executives and their leadership teams to help them effectively run their team and business. Critical to the success of the Strategy and Operations, you will utilize the ability to flex across both strategic and operational initiatives and build effective bridges and alignment through partnerships and communication skills. You will serve as a proxy for the Vice President, as appropriate and lead a large team consisting of Merchant Strategy and Program Management.

Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $272,000-$383,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Partner with Merchant leadership to develop and evolve strategy and goals in a coordinated way. 
  • Drive the cadence of the business including key communications and reporting across all levels of the organization (i.e., reporting, OKRs, QBRs, annual planning, team communications and decision-making).
  • Build relationships with executive leaders, including Product, Engineering, Program Management, Data Science, User Experience, Marketing, Business Dev, and Finance teams. Identify and execute on opportunities for collaboration.
  • Enable decision making across executive leadership and all levels of the organization, foreseeing the pushback and challenges. Provide data and tradeoffs for stakeholders.
  • Lead a large team consisting of Merchant Strategy and Program Management. Partner with HR to drive talent and partner initiatives.
